Explore the Possiblities

Hello, it's been a while since my last post here in my blog.  =( Wondering why I am now updating my blog? Well, I just woke up and thinking to do something I always do before and that's blogging. YES. I was into blogging anything about school and life. Now that October is coming and new graduating students are now into job seeking, exploring their opportunities and what will work for them after graduation. So as early as now, they are searching for their right path where to start their career.

Have you been into this kind of stage, I mean looking for a job after college? :) Let me know.

Fun and Stress

School is FUN! Literally FUN! :) Sometimes school is STRESS! Literally STRESS! That's how you describe school.

FUN because you can hang out with your friends, you can talk whatever you want. Share every moments and see your crush every day! :)

STRESS because you have to learn the lessons, memorized and review. Create projects and homeworks with deadline and you don't have time to go out with your friends specially when you have exams.

That's what some students shouting out or post as their status on their social network profile. That was lame.
School should be fun and stress. Should be balance between academics and extra curricular activities. You go to school to learn not only the subjects but also everything about life. Hmmm.. saying that "everything about life."

It's true that you will learn a lot of things outside the classroom. But then again, school is about learning about all the school subjects require. HEY! Its part of our life. And sad to say not to all. :(

After the bell rings, that's the time you will learn MORE outside the classroom, outside your school and that's what you call subject LIFE. :)

Have a good day! :) Study Hard! :)

What To Do When Classes Starts

Summer is over and students out there are on their second week of their classes (some are on their 3rd week.) Lots of adjustments to do since last week.

• Wake Up Early

This is the number one rule we have to do and get used everyday. Because if NOT, we will be LATE. and we don't want that to be happened. So as much as possible, set 2-3 alarms that will wake you up.

• Doing our Homework

Are you lazy in doing your homework when you got home? The thing is everything is on the internet and your best friend forever Google is always there to help you. That makes you go online and what will happen is that:
► You will check your email.
► You will check your social networking profile (facebook, twitter and plurk)
► You will check your blogs (blogspot, tumblr)
► You will check your favorite websites.
And in the end, you will forgot to do your homework or you will sleep late. You don't want that to be happened. As much as possible, you have to moderate you internet usage during weekdays.

• When Reading

You will sit or lie down on your bed in any position that you are comfortable and when you're reading your lesson for tomorrow (could be report or any oral recitation tomorrow) if you are on your bed, there's a tendency that you will fall asleep and you might forget some of what you've read. So, studying in your study-table will prevent from doing that.

That's all for now. Hope you are enjoying your school days since you missed it for two months! :) Meeting with friends and same classmates since freshman is very nice. For those who are now seniors, enjoy the last school year in high school make sure its balance between studies and other school activities. :)

Have a happy day! :)

Prom Issues

Prom Night is the most awaited event of the high school life. This is where you can find your partner or date for the night or the school administration will decide who will be your partner to be fair for all. But mostly in schools you are the one who usually look for a date.
Wanted: Date
All of us have qualifications when it comes to a date or partner. It is obvious that you can't hang out with a guy or girl with your opposite likes and dislikes, you two will surely not get along with each other. Our crush in school will be definitely perfect for the night, because its not only that you can be with her or with him the whole night, also you will get to know your crush or someone you like and you could also discover things that it could be impressive or not. Choose the one that have a sense of humor and the one who will get you along.
To Date or To Ditch
Finding a date or partner for your prom should be done at least a month before the prom night. It is also good that you have your list of persons in your mind. Just in case, for an option. Don't ever ditch your partner if someone will invite you even if he is your crush. So don't dare.
Planning
Cause you have a partner, both of you will have time to organize things such as:
a. Dinner Plans
Eating too much is not good when you are in the party. It is better that before you go to the party you already eat your dinner at home and leave that thing at home, you know what I mean. So that if you are in the party you will eat light and can dance without a feeling of a heavy tummy.
b. Your proper attire (what you two will be dressed out)
You two must have a theme in attire. So buying a dress or evening gown before you find a partner is not good. You must have a partner first before you two will decide what to wear. Plus you will easily catch your partner in the crowd dancing to other because you two have a theme outfit.
c. Your transportation
If the both of you don’t have a car, you can rent a car or limo that is good for 14 persons. You can go in groups or you can go to the venue with just the two of you. It still depends on what you two had decided.
d. Plans after the Dance or Prom
This is the plan involving your friends it could be an extend party in your friend's place and have an overnight staying there. Make sure that your parents know about this stuff so that they will not worry about you.

e. Picture Taking
Take a photo with your prom date so that you two will have a remembrance.

The Dance
This is the most highlight event of the night. Dancing with your partner in the dance floor is nice but for those who doesn't have a date its not. I just hate it when you're dancing with your friends then the slow music comes on and you have no date. This is will challenge you to ask some random guys to dance with you, and if there's no one you will just realize that you had asked the guy from your class yesterday. Sigh! You will watch the couples dancing and you are wishing that you also have one. But there's no one so you are sitting and leaning on the wall and waiting until it's over and leave.

Can I Dance With You?
If you are asked to dance, don't decline the invitation of the guy, it is honorable to accept his invitation. Don't let him pass your way at least someone who extends with you.

Don't Be Mute
For the guys that can't invite the girl that they love to dance because of the super “Shyness” sigh! She will melt if you will just look at her sitting and there's no one dancing with her, it's your chance man! If this will happen, ask her to dance with a smile don't be mute and can't speak when she look at you... you will look like a retard. Don't doubt and don't think negative like she will not accept your invitation or she will snob you, DON'T ever think about that because I' am sure that she will love to dance. (c)

Have a Lovely Prom Night! :)

• Outfit for Party
I want to make sure that I will wear an outfit where I am so comfortable and trendy. Will gonna wear skinny jeans since I am still a student and I don't want to wear some less clothes, more skin. Not a good outfit.

Do You Listen to Music When You Study?

There are only two answers:

• Yes, It keeps me going

80% of my correspondents answered Yes because it makes studying not boring. It makes you sing while reading your notes using your eyes and not makes you feel sleepy. It shows that you can concentrate on studying while listening to music because you can divide your attention and sometimes it makes you sing but the lyrics that you are singing are from your notes.

• No, It's distracting

20% of my correspondents answered NO. They simply answered: “they can't concentrate reading their notes and memorizing the important points of their notes.” Oh-oh.

Does it means that students who answered YES are smarter than the students answered NO? Hmmm.. I can't judge them. In my case, when I was in high school, I used to listen to my favorite acoustic songs while I'm studying because it makes me feel calm and concentrate to my study. Except for the fact that there are love songs that makes me sing along and forgot to read my notes again. But it was alright because after I recite what I remembered to what I had read. (still smart! =D )

But if you are studying using your laptop, netbook or your desktop computer, plus you have internet connection. There's a possibility that you can divert your attention by checking your social networking site profile and updating your status. Tsk..tsk.. well, that's not good.

Study Hard but not harder!

Front or Back of the Class?

What we would like to get sit in front or at the back of the class? Our teachers practice the sitting arrangements before they will based it alphabetically. Well, if you are in grade school and in high school. Except in college we can seat anywhere. So where do you prefer to sit?

• Front:

These are the seats that are vacant during first day of school. I bet you know that. Because even me I don't seat in front just to be the first to call and introduce myself to the class. Sitting in front are for students who are serious in their school academics and want to show their interests in studies.

The advantages of sitting in front are: (A) your professor can easily remember your name; (B) you can listen very well and focus to the lesson and (C) you can understand very well.

The disadvantages of sitting in front are: (A) that you can't talk to your seatmate; (B) if there's a question (sometimes out of the topic) there's a possibility that you will be the one who will answer and (C) you can't reply to the text messages from your friends waiting outside your classroom.

• Back:
Sitting at the back is challenging because you have to divide your mind and your listening skills, because your seatmates at the back are very talkative and (sometimes) annoying. Whoa! I remember, when I was in my Junior year I was sitting in the 4th row or in the middle of the class (not really at the back) and that was cool. But when I was in Senior year I was sitting at the back (last row) and believe me, that was so cool spending my last year in high school at the back. I can talk to my seatmate while having our class and during exams, I can... Okay that's enough! hahaha! Like what I've said earlier, its very challenging and as long as I know, students sitting at the back gets higher scores at exams or quizzes and in recitation even if they don't listen to the lecture. I think because they know how to manage their listening skills while their talking to their classmates or they do their homework.

• Depends on the class:

These are on my mind:

► If the subject is your favorite: You will sit in front of the class.
► If the subject makes you sleepy and boring: You will sit in the middle, so you can talk to your seatmate.
► If your not interested with the subject: You will sit at the back of the class and talk to your seatmates or sleep.

Internet Teens more likely to get the blues addicts: study

Adolescents who are "addicted" to the Internet are more than twice as likely to become depressed than those who surf the Web in a more controlled, a study released Monday found. For the study, published in the journal Archives of Pediatrics and Adolescent Medicine, 1041 adolescents in Guangzhou in southeastern China completed a questionnaire to determine if they have used the Internet in a pathological way, and were assessed for anxiety and depression. Most of teens - more than 940 - have used the Internet as normal, but 62 (6.2 percent) were classified as moderately pathological Internet users and two (0.2 percent) were "users" severely pathological.

Nine months later, the adolescents' psychological states were assessed again, and the researchers found these students who used the Internet without control or wrongly were around two and half times more likely than users of normal network depression. Even when the stress of studies of adolescents were in the equation, young Internet addicts are still one and half times more likely to feel depressed in the nine month follow-up than children who used the Internet in a controlled manner. "This result suggests that young people who are initially free of mental health problems, but the pathological Internet use may develop depression as a result," the study authors said Lawrence Lam, School of Medicine in Sydney, Australia, and Zi Wen-Peng of the Chinese Ministry of Education, said.

Pathological Internet use has been identified as a problem behavior with signs and symptoms similar to other addictions, according to background information in the study. Other studies have generally found the teens who use the Internet pathologically, but the authors warn that the number of girls who show addictive Internet behavior is increasing.

A warning signs of pathological Internet use: adolescents in the study were found to be addicted to the Internet were more likely to use it for entertainment than for education or information gathering, Lam and Zi found. Moreover, the entertainment was the most common use of the Internet among adolescents in the study, whose average age was 15.

The researchers suggest screening adolescents in their high schools to identify youth who are at risk of becoming addicted to the Internet and possibly depressed because of their pathological behavior.

How to Not Fall Asleep During Class?

A common problem to some students is to "sleep" during their class. Because they get bored while their teacher is having their lecture that makes them sleepy. As a student you should participate in your class to stay awake and keep your energy on high. Sometimes scheduled class in the afternoon makes you sleepy and bored because it makes you bored. What make it worst is that even during exam you can still manage to fall asleep. Well, that's a serious problem dude!

I asked some of the students on how to not fall asleep during class, and these are their answers:

• "Keep a pack of chocolates to eat inside the class if you are all
owed to. Your taste buds can help you stay awake." - Lyn

• "Talk with your seatmates, left and right! Hahaha!" - Jenny

• "Draw doodles in your notes, that makes you stay awake!" -Didie

• "Chewing gum or sweet candy to melt in your mouth." -Luther

• "Drink energy drink, to give you more energy! Yeah." -Kyle

• "Drink black coffee! Or espresso. Hahaha! -Neil

• "Motivate yourself to listen, learn and love the subject." -Regina

• "Participate in the class even if you have non-sense comments and suggestions! =D" -Anne

Try one of those
suggestions to keep you not fall asleep during your class. My number one advise, is to eat sweets to give you more energy, it could be chocolates, candy, or crackers. Be good during class!

What's the best thing about summer?

I know, school just got started. Your body is now adjusting on your school schedules and activities unlike during summer vacation, you don't have to wake up early and you can sleep late at night. Now you're back in being a student, I'm sure that you still have a hangover about your summer vacation and sharing it to your friends in school. So, what is the best thing about summer?

No School

Yehey! You are like, you want to break free. No homework, no school projects, no exams and quizzes and no need to wake up early. However the thing is, you will miss your friends in school and you will not get a chance to see y
our crush in school.

Warm Weather

When we say summer, we enjoy everything under the sun! We go to the beach, swim in the pool, hang out with friends, you can help your parents in household chores, do some part time job, and of course, bond with your family.

Bikinis

If you are a beach bum, you'll love to wear swimsuit at the beach that makes you feel the summer. You are ready to go have sunburn or get tanned.

Road Trips

This is the best for me. Road trips are not really into "just" road tripping. It means that you go out of town with your friends or with your family and spend overnight or 2 days in a resort or in a place that is far away from the city life that you used to. Do chill and relax.

Workshops

If we want to have a nice summer, some of the students enrolls in other workshop for singing, modeling, acting and etc. To meet new friends and to have their summer memorable for them. Enrolling in workshops can gained confidence and self-esteem.

And these are what we missed the most when we are in school. I bet you can't wait to have summer vacation again. Before that, you have to make sure that you have good grades in school. Stay cool in school! ♥

Sticky Notes!

School just got started and here comes the rainy days. We are all excited what will happens this school year and what does our school store for us. Before that, being in school makes us busy and we have lots of school activities such as home works, school projects, review, exams, quiz, and the school organization that we involved in. I'm sure that there will be more meetings with your school organization you're into. As a student, you have to manage your time to each of your school activities. What you can do is to take note all your activities and put them as your reminders.

• Put a cardboard and post it in your wall of your room.
• Buy or create sticker not
es where to write your schedule everyday.
• Make sure that you will assigned each color to what activity you are into. For instance, Pink is for homework, Red is for Cheering
practice, Green for Student Council and so on.
• Make sure that you will read it every day or you will put it in a place where you can see and read to remind you.
• List all your schedules and do the math in time management.

And those are the basic things that you can do to take down your notes.
